I am thinking about buying an upgraded alienware m17x but idk if i could go with an asus g74sx for less money?
the m17x that i am looking at has a graphics card thats 2GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GTX 580M i7 processor running at 2.4 GHZ and 3.5 GHZ with turbo boost and a 17.3 inch screen that 1920x1080 at 60GHZ WLED with all my accessories and add-ons like warranty and security my total is 2866 or i could get the ASUS G74SX from best buy which has a i7 with 2.0GHz (with Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz)17.3 inch video memory of 2GB and a graphics card of NIVIDIA GTX 560M for 1250 with out a protection plan thoughts on what i should do and whatever you choose please provide a argument backed by reviews facts and/or websites

How much can cleaning my registry speed up my computer?
I'm running windows 7 and my pc has slowly been getting slower and slower since i got it in September. I have a Intel i7 processor and 8gb of ram and my computer has start freezing with the processor at less than 10% being used and less than 35% of ram being used. I ran a free scan for a registry cleaner i was looking at on best buy. it said I have 166 issues that it could repair if i bought it. I can't find any viruses. I basically want to know if cleaning my registry will restore my computer to its former glory or if it's a hardware problem i can't find or if I just need to wipe my computer and start over(I really don't want to have to deal with that). tell me your suggestions, experience, etc. i just want my computer to stop freezing for no reason. I DON'T WANT recommendations for registry cleaners. I WANT TO KNOW if it will actually make a significant difference or something that will.

What kind of computer should I buy?
Okay, so I'm going to be buying a new laptop tomorrow at Best Buy (most likely) this is what I will be using it for: - Downloading lots of music (legally) - Burning CD's - Using a writing program (like microsoft word) - Internet surfing and thats pretty much it. Is it worth it to buy a Mac? If not, what would you recommend I get? Its a college graduation gift so money isn't a huge issue, but I dont want to make my parents spend a lot if Im they dont really have to, considering what Ill be using it for.
