Who gets what in a divorce?
Each yr hubby and I divide income tax. He buys electronics and video games which usually get traded in for another one while I buy house furnishings. He thinks that if we divorce and I leave and take my things then he is entitled to half of them. I disagree b/c as I said he spends his on what he wants and so do I. I can't help mine is spent on meaningful things. Our house was bought with his dads money and we legally signed papers that we would pay a set amount each month for a certain amount of years and if it couldnt get paid he could foreclose. He wouldnt do this though normally. I'm a stay at home mom and my hubby lost his job and hasnt paid a house payment since may. His dad said it was okay until he got another job, which he recently did. Now that we are talking divorce he thinks he can have the house and most of everything in it or if I ask for it to be sold then his dad will foreclose. I have no want to stay in the house because there was a sex offender who moved in recently across the street. 3rd degree, him being 51 and the child being 13-15. We live in Mississippi and also have two children under 6. What are my rights about it all? People can pretend to be something they arent just to get someone to marry them!!! House is in our name but his dad was the lender.
