Buying Stocks

I'm planning to buy stocks. But I dont know where and how it works.?
I'm 17 turning 18 in 6 months Culinary graduate and I'd like to invest and earn. I have many questions like are there requirements, age, experience and others, How is stock holding different from share holding? Which is possible for me to obtain? What are the ups and downs and How does the payment and the business itself work? Is it advisable to buy stocks at this time? I have a budget ranging from 1-100$ because I'm only working part time yet. I need tips on how and where to invest and what to do with the money I earn. I think its better to spend the money I earn investing on business rather than on expensive clothes and jewelries. I really need help. and I really want to involve my self with business.
